The people, the room, the food, the bar, the pool.
The noise from bikes and jeepneys, which can't be helped as there is only one road in and out of town.
Very relaxing stay, very helpful staff, great room. Will stay there again.

Our diving vacation started with our PADI certification and ended with Advanced Open Water cert. The dive instructor is GREAT! The facilites are clean and well kept. The food is very good. We will return again. This was the best vacation we've ever had.

The mermaid is twice as nice as anything in PG. Largest TV's, outdoor hot tub in affordable Penthouse rooms, view of the town, best Calamari I have ever had in my life, great food and wine menu, no hassle about overnight guests, great cleaning staff, will pick up your laundry and have it washed without asking, owners living in the hotel are friendly and care about you.

My first visit to the Philippines was made more enjoyable due to the fact we stayed in an excellent accommodation, this gave us more time to enjoy the resort knowing there were no problems with the room and services. I would recommend the Mermaid resort without hesitation to any traveler thinking of visiting Puerto Galera for the first time.
