Getting to Know More Diver Hand Signals

In the previous article under Dive Guide, you have already been introduced to the most common hand signals used when diving. Now, we bring you the more advanced {drum roll}, the more sophisticated {drum roll}, the more complex {drum roll}, the more refined {drum roll}, the more stylish {drum roll}, and yet equally important and practical {drum roll} Diving Hand Signals!!!

Here they are…

1. By motioning with the hand sweeping toward the body, you are saying “Come here.”

2. By pointing your arm and fist toward the direction of danger, you are saying “Danger.”

3. By crossing you arms on your chest with both fists clenched, you are saying “Danger.”

4. By clasping your hands together, you are saying “Hold hands.”

5. By motioning horizontally with an open palm face down and fingers apart, you are saying “Level off at this depth.”

6. By motioning up and down with an open palm face down, you are saying “Take it easy or slow down.”

7. By rotating an extended index finger in a circular motion, you are saying “Turn around.”

8. By using an open palm to show intended route, you are saying either “Go under,” “Go over” or “Go around.”

9. By rotating 180 degrees repeatedly a clenched fist with the thumb extended, you are asking “Which direction?”

10. By pointing to the leader with one finger and pointing to the follower with another then putting those fingers in front of your body, you are indicating who will lead and who will follow.
